What Are Full Mouth Dental Implants?
Full mouth dental implants are a special device meant to securely hold removable dentures or permanent teeth replacements in the jawbone. They are a safe and esthetically desirable replacement for missing teeth lost as the result of dental trauma or periodontal disease. The placement of implants is often preferable compared to the use of fixed dental bridges or removable full or partial dentures.
For patients with missing teeth, full mouth dental implants are usually the most cost effective long-term solution because they are safe, durable, and aesthetically desirable. Full mouth dental implants are a special device meant to securely hold permanent teeth replacements or implant-supported dentures in the jawbone.
Full Mouth Dental Implants can be a replacement for missing teeth lost as the result of dental trauma, tooth decay, or periodontal disease. Given the high rate of long-term success for implants, a dentist or dental specialist may recommend a fixed implant as a preferred alternative to placing a bridge or making a removable denture.
At the hands of a skilled dental practitioner, an implant along with the abutment and crown can be designed to look and function as a natural tooth. Dentists can assure patients with missing teeth that after the final crown is placed, they should be able to smile with confidence and eat and brush as normal. Patients considering a full mouth dental implant need to understand that there will be multiple stages in the process and they should be fully committed to the practitioner’s treatment plan. Since each patient’s oral health is different, the number of visits and total time involved in planning the case will vary. The total costs of the full mouth dental implant will vary accordingly as well.
